Duo from Tokyo focused on Bass music with a groove of original tracks, intricate transitions, and trippy rhythms
Drawing inspiration from multiple genres such as Techno, Dubstep, Breaks, Downtempo and IDM, their DJ sets weave through both murky bass and vibrant soundscapes to create an anomalous psychedelic experience.
Herbalistek’s goal is to lead and build a foundation for the bass music scene of Japan and create positive experiences through experimental bass music around the world
Using original tracks, intricate transitions, and trippy rhythms, Herbalistek have continued to establish their esoteric yet strangely familiar sound.
Herbalistek has also released through various labels, including Bassrush, Spicybois, Quality Goods Records, Wormhole Music Group, Wubaholics and Japan’s leading Dance Music Label TREKKIE TRAX. They have also featured collaborations with some of the biggest names in Trap music such as Australian producer Oski on UZ’s label Quality Goods Records.
In May 2019, Herbalistek was selected as the winner of the discovery project for EDC Japan, and performed on the mainstage, kineticFIELD alongside worldwide known artists.
In September 2022, they have performed at Ultra Japan Music Festival in a B2B set with Allen Mock, and in the same year performed on the same stage as Japan’s legendary DJ KRUSH at Incubus Camp.
Herbalistek has also made their debut in 2019 at Chinese Laundry, one of Australia’s most iconic underground clubs as a guest artist, They have also made their second appearance in January 2020, also as a guest artist.
In 2019, December, Herbalistek also performed at Alison Wonderland’s ‘Wonderland Warehouse Project’, an underground warehouse tour curated in dark industrial spaces across the globe. Herbalistek has directly supported Alison Wonderland during her Tokyo gig, at Cross Dock Harumi.
Herbalistek has also curated their very own event, focused on shining light on the underground bass music scene of Tokyo. The event titled “Sector” named after their mix series, has been hosted twice, receiving praise throughout the Tokyo dance music scene and community.
Part II brought in Japan’s heavyweight dubstep OG GOTH TRAD as the special guest at one of Tokyo\'s most established venues, Sound Museum Vision.
