Nicola Cruz is an Ecuadorian musician born in France, characterized by producing contemporary sounds of electronic music. Cultural mix is the root and the result of his personal sound journeys, a merge process of his work as a musical selector.
In 2015, he released Prender el Alma, an album linked to the creative and spiritual sounds from Ecuador. The release quickly positioned Nicola as a local and regional reference in electronic music. On Siku (2019), his second studio album expanded his project worldwide, emphasizing his vision of music as a collaborative exercise.
In 2021 Nicola Cruz released two new EPs which, despite both being released in the same year, are quite different from each other. The first one, Subtropique, is characterized by a strong base of percussion and psychedelic sounds that constantly invites to dance. Meanwhile, in Sentimientos Encontrados, Nicola presents new explorations focused on electronic music from South America, focusing on rhythmic elements such as dembow.
Being percussion the main driver of his sound, Nicola Cruz proposes a new music concept in each project. This is also reflected in his live performances, which are constantly changing. Whether in dj set or live act format, his performances are usually surprising and a faithful representation of his journey as sound explorer. Renowned festivals around the world such as Primavera Sound, Roskilde, Sonar, Fuji Rock, Mutek, and many others have witnessed Nicola Cruz\\\'s performances.
