Red Pig Flower is a Seoul, South Korea born artist whose life and art has taken her on a path through Tokyo, London, Berlin and now the Belgian capital of Brussels. Through her many years of experience in the art world she’s presented, in various forms, both her digital art and music, hosting exhibitions at esteemed venues such as the NCCA in Moscow, Goldsmiths University in London and the Asia Culture Centre in Gwangju amongst many others. Her works are deeply influenced by both the Asian philosopher Zhūangzi, in the 4th century he pondered and wrote about the transformation of material things, this has had a profound influence of Red Pig Flower’s work as an artist and helped to develop the core concept of many of her works which are centred around those vague boundaries between, dreams and reality, death and life, matter and digital, mind and body. All of which are opposite but not unique concepts that cannot exist without the other.
The other side of Red Pig Flower’s art has seen her showcasing a distinctive twist on contemporary Techno, DJing in many of the leading nightclubs across the globe and unveiling many of her own productions over the past decade, several of which have been released on her own co-founded Sound of Vast record label. Her never ending quest for discovery in the arts has seen her studying mass media at CAU Seoul, time-based art at CSM London and most recently LUCA Brussels where she has been selected as Jonge Kunstenaars 2022 (young artists 2022)\". In 2015, She was awarded the Best Video Art prize at the Venezia Misteriosa contest, and in 2021 she was granted a Master Mind Scholarship by KU Leuven.
