本週五宀 首次邀請柏林音樂人 Alex Kassian。於日本京都成長， Alex Kassian 現居於柏林，受到 Panorama Bar 駐場DJ Paramida 青睞，現時為廠牌Love On The Rocks其中一員。獨特的音樂風先把他帶到現代舞和劇場的製作，後演進到跳舞音樂製作。尤如外星人般奇特， Alex Kassian以喜感和即興看待跳舞，往往帶聽眾離飄太空。另外曾於 Utopia Records 旗下推出個人製作，亦是二人組合 Opal Sunn 其中一員，擁有自己的廠牌 Planet Sundae，備受傳奇人物 Andrew Weatherall 和DJ Sprinkles青睞。是夜由 Distrikt 團體成員 Jordy Lee暖場，本週五相信會是世間少有的玩味派對。

This Friday we welcome for the first time Alex Kassian from Berlin. A beloved member of Panorama Bar resident Paramida’s “Love On The Rocks” label, Alex originally hails from Kyoto, Japan. His sophisticated and precise sound has led him to work on soundtracks for contemporary dance and theatre, later evolving into dance music production. Inspired by the stars and seemingly a visitor from outer space, Alex creates music that bursts with optimism and spontaneity, granting discerning ravers an out-of-body experience. Having previously released on Utopia Records aside from LOTR, he is part of the duo Opal Sunn which has their own imprint entitled Planet Sundae. The imprint has caught the attention of dance music legends such as the late Andrew Weatherall as well as DJ Sprinkles. With Jordy Lee from the Distrikt crew on support, this is sure to be a playfully ethereal night!

Alex Kassian
Alex Kassian is a producer, DJ and artist from Kyoto, now based in Berlin, where he splits his days equally between making music and astral projection.
Alex’s sound is sophisticated and precise (he previously worked on soundtracks for contemporary dance and theatre); it’s also lush and organic, cinematic and uplifting, bursting with optimism and energy, informed by spontaneity and improvisation and specifically designed to promote the kind of out-of-body experiences demanded by discerning ravers across the universe.

As a solo artist, Alex has released on a number of labels here on Earth including Paramida’s Love On The Rocks and Alex Bradley’s Utopia Records. Together with Hiroaki OBA, he is also one half of Opal Sunn, who operate their own imprint Planet Sundae since 2017, through which they self-released a number of EPs, catching the attention of and support from dance music luminaries such as Andrew Weatherall and DJ Sprinkles.

In 2018 they released their first EP Parallax on Nick Höppner’s label Touch From A Distance, and in 2019 and early 2020 took their live show on tour around Europe and Asia, with stops everywhere from Field Manoeuvres festival to The Observatory in Saigon and Panorama Bar in Berlin. Their second release, Laika, came out on Touch From A Distance in 2020, shortly followed by Alex’s first solo outing on Love On The Rocks, Oolong Trance.

Jordy Lee
Hong Kong native and up-and-coming artist Jordy Lee is no stranger to the underground music scene. As a co-founder of the music collective and club night Distrikt, Jordy has quickly made his mark on the local circuit by pushing innovative soundscapes and crafting parties that champion the deeper and groovier sides of techno.

As a DJ, Jordy is galvanised by the influence of early rave culture on modern sonics and has gone on to play alongside the likes of industry veterans Roza Terenzi and Fantastic Man. With a sharp commitment to exploring a range of dance music genres, expect Jordy to deliver anything from progressive house to more obscure shades of techno and ravey trance - all firmly rooted in driving dance floor energy.
