Badkiss has been at it for almost 20 years: a lover of music first, a dancer second, and a DJ third.
She plays what excites her over fulfilling expectations, setting an example for anyone who longed for an alternative to the jiggy hiphop clubs of the mid 2000s or the EDM super clubs of the 2010s.
She is proof that it is possible to go against the grain and create your own niche.
She has shared the booth and warmed up the room for artists as diverse as Chromeo, Crazy P, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Spinna, Jazzanova, Justice, Soulection and Paramida to name a few. She played Mark de Clive Lowe’s Church in LA, and Tony Touch’s famed House dance haven Funkbox in NYC as well as parties in Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Jakkarta, Munich and Berlin.
Her open format, soulful sensibility, musicality, and ability to play cohesive sets beyond the confinement of genres have shaped her reputation throughout her storied career, earning the love and respect of fellow DJs, producers, musicians and dancers alike.
“It’s the music that gives dignity, grace and beauty to collective, hedonistic pursuits. That’s how I interpret the role of being the DJ at a party.” she says with a wink.
